I’m offering up the first of two workshops this August.
First up we have an in-depth Commedia dell’Arte workshop with Olly Crick. https://www.edgehill.ac.uk/performingarts/staff/olly-crick/
Olly has over 30 years experience as an actor, teacher, director, musician, writer, clown and creator of wacky organised chaos on stage.
The various subjects Olly teaches include:
Commedia dell’Arte, Clowning, Masked Theatre and Mask Making, Physical Theatre, Directing and Group Dynamics, Voice, Ice-breakers and Inductions, Stand-Up Comedy, Circus Skills, Puppetry, Street-Theatre, Shakespeare, Dramatic Structure and Writing, Movement and Body-awareness.
During this short intensive of 28 hours learning and play; over 3 evenings and a weekend we’ll explore the history of Commedia dell’Arte, mask work, and devise and perform a short show.
Some aspects the workshop will cover:
-An introduction to the Commedia dell’Arte
-Commedia dell’arte ,comic and physical acting.
-Acting with Masks
-Devising for comedy; solo and the comic play
-Devising for political comedy
-Body Language: using it in your acting
-Commedia as an acting style for today
Price: 3500kc full price, 2800 student price. A 500kc non-refundable deposit is required. There are 15 spaces on this workshop.
