Blood, Love and Rhetoric Theatre presents AKANDA Theatre on the 25th November and 9th December.
AKANDA’s latest production, The Lives of Jesse James, is a first-hand Bukowski-esque look at the life and times of misguided criminal masterminds clinging to the flacid underbelly of small-town America. In the sterile gloom of early 1980’s cultural vapidity, those who dare must seek their own way out of the gray boredom of menial employment and sub-suburban existence in a land that time forgot amidst the hedonism and extended guitar solos of the ’70s. But which way do you go when you’ve been down so long that it looks like up?
