This October (21st and 28th), 80 years since the death of H.P. Lovecraft, Blood, Love and Rhetoric Theatre reprise their original comedy horror musical – Lovecraft!
FBI Agent Jablonski arrives in Arkham Asylum to investigate the strange events surrounding the seaside town of Innsmouth, hoping some of the patients can help him solve the mystery of Devils‘ Reef. Under the direction of the senior psychiatrist, the hospital staff use experimental psychodramatic techniques to reenact the encounters that drove them insane and provide Jablonski with the answers he seeks.
Though a writer of pulp fiction whilst alive, H.P. Lovecraft had an enormous influence over his genre and popular culture after his death including Stephen King, H.R. Gieger, Metallica, South Park, The Tiger Lillies, and even Hello Kitty! Indeed, the tentacles of Lovecraft can be found everywhere…
‚That is not dead which can eternal lie
And with strange aeons even death may die.‘
