Part 1
PLAYING CHARACTERS WHO ACTUALLY LIKE EACH OTHER
Learn how to play people who get along with the other characters in the scene. Is there really a need for conflict and trouble between the characters in scenes? By getting along and liking each other, a whole new world of conflict-free detail opens up.
This is a powerful and transformative approach that will change your improv, for good!
Part 2
FINDING STRONG ENDINGS TO SCENES
Many improvisers find it challenging to end scenes when doing „open“, unstructured short scenework. But this kind of scenework is some of the most exciting work to do in improv. We’ll look at some tools that, used individually and together, can lead to strong, satisfying endings, with focus on: Escalating, Repeating, Finishing The Task, and Leaving.

Part 1
EXTREME CHARACTERS
Have you ever wondered why most of us play „normal“ or „neutral“ characters most of the time? Do you have the urge to play characters which are bigger than life and /or are very different from you? Are you struggling with playing this kind of character in a believable way? When improvisers make the choice of playing an extreme character on
stage, two main things happen: 1. They struggle between playing that character consistently and believably while keeping the scene going. 2. the scene will usually evolve around them and how „extreme“ they are. This is why in this session I would like you to develop the ability to play those characters in a believable and focused way AND use these characters to tell beautiful stories in various contexts and situations.
Part 2
THE TIME IS NOW! / DARK & UNCOMFORTABLE SCENES
The world is changing fast and often we are not sure what we are „allowed“ to do on stage and what is „inappropriate“. We find ourselves facing questions like:
* How do we tackle political, racial, gender issues in improvisation?
* How do we play the bad guys and/ or people who are different from us?
* What do we have to say and how do we avoid propaganda while saying it?
* How do we keep our improvisation playful and funny while tackling such topics?
If you are interested in making relevant, meaningful, thoughts evoking improvisation – this workshop is for you!
2 DAYS WITH INBAL LORI AND TIM ORR TOGETHER ON ESSENTIAL IMPROV SKILLS LEADING TO THE FORMAT „THE CLICK“

DAY 1

How do we start scenes with confidence, variety, vitality and clarity? How do we start in the beginning, the middle, or even „the end“ of something? How do we make the most of the initial „Big Bang“ of scenes? We’ll work on „hitting the stage“ with energy, commitment and the elements that help us do that: Volume, Clarity, Specificity, Implied History, Emotions, Agreement, Initial Staging.
We will also work on creating space, creating worlds, working with personal dreams, fears, wirth rhythm, intensity, beat in scene work, and the freedom of the improviser to create.
DAY 2 – CLICK
6 hours + 1 hour extra showtime
About the format „CLICK“
Do you want to enjoy mprovised show based on private sneak-peeks? Inbal Lori (Tel Aviv) and Tim Orr (San Francisco) combine to present CLICK. In this format, the improvisers take their inspiration from photographs provided by the audience, rather than verbal suggestions. Each scene will be start with a new photograph, and the scenes are most likely unrelated. The evocative, non-literal nature of photographs allows the actors to discover their way into characters and situations through the feeling that the images inspire. As they say, „a picture is worth a thousand words“.
